If your businesses or company is short staffed then you may consider enlisting the services of a recruitment agency who will be able to provide you with the personnel you require to fill your vacancies. There are many different recruitment agencies, some of which will specialise in providing staff to certain industries. It is usually the case that staff are sent to work on a temporary basis, in some cases as little as one day, however there have been cases of people finding long term, or even full time employment through recruitment agencies.
Companies that acquire staff through these agencies will pay a fee to the agency, so if you’re running a business it is preferable that you employ people directly as this makes more financial sense than enlisting people from these third party agencies. However, if you find that you’re suddenly and unexpectedly short staffed then making use of a recruitment agency can be extremely useful as they’re often able to provide staff to fill vacancies at very short notice. Many firms that employ a great deal of people, such as those that operate factories and production lines will often be heavily reliant upon recruitment agencies to provide them with personnel, particularly if they are struggling to find enough people to man their equipment. Recruitment agencies are also very useful to companies who are looking to fill a place left by a member of staff who must be absent for a long time, for example a woman on maternity leave.
