eLearning Accessibility
Our Ethos
e-Learning Accessibility is not the same as web accessibility! Good practice in designing accessible elearning (indeed any form of learning) is about the maintaing the learner's learning experience. We specialise in e-learning accessibility.

Our Services
Supporting your Whole Organisation
We can provide continuous educational, practical and technical support, advice, and training / CPD to support the needs of:
- Directors / Board Members,
- Project Managers,
- Content Authors / Writers,
- Learning / Educational / Interaction Designers,
- Technical Development Teams (HTML etc).
Developing an e-Learning Accessibility Strategy
We work with organisations small and larger in developing their accessibility standards. We would be very happy to spend the day with you - learning about your organisation, its structure, skills and needs. We can provide strategic advice and support on the development of accessibility policies and practices.
Evaluating e-Learning Materials
We can evaluate e-learning materials:
- for accessibility and usability issues,
- for assistive technology interoperability (Screen Readers, Screen Magnifiers
and Keyboard Access),
- for their support of inclusive learning and instructional design techniques,
- to find whether the learning material supports a range of learning styles,
abilities and preferences,
- to find whether the learning material supports and encourages a range
of student study strategies,
- to find whether the learning material provides appropriate alternatives
learning experiences where required,
- to find whether the learning objectives of the material are compromised
by conflicts with accessibility issues (and we can then suggest alternatives,
which may not be technical).
Evaluating e-Learning Development Tools
We can evaluate e-learning tools (e.g. VLEs or authoring tools) for:
- accessibility and usability issues (on both the development and student
sides),
- assistive technology interoperability (Screen Readers, Screen Magnifiers
and Keyboard Access),
- their support of inclusive learning and instructional design techniques,
- their facilities for developing learning material that support a range
of learning styles, abilities and preferences.
Developing Technical Accessibility Specifications
We can work with management and technical teams to draw up a contextualised
set of accessibility specifications that reflect the strategic requirements
of the company (or institution) and the resources or skills of the development
team.
